Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
Love is something that you poured out to people around you and expect nothing in return. People might claim: "I love you these much, and you must love me these much too!"
But what did God do in the aspect of love? He loves us and He even sacrificed His own and beloved Son to die on behalf of us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and so that we can be with Him in eternity. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Does it mean that Christians are holy saints that do not commit sins anymore? Absolutely not! Christians are also normal human beings. We do fall into the trap of sin at times, but by the grace of God, we are being forgiven again and again if we repent before Him.
I can assure you that there is no love under heaven that is greater than the love from our God for us. God is the source of love. He created us so that we can have fellowship with Him.
Will you at this day tell God that you love Him too?
